留学生受け入れ要件 (Requirement for International Student)

Hardware design course

If you want to join our Labo as a master student, confirm your skill and experience before you apply:

  • FPGA design experience (xilinx devices preferred)
  • Hardware Description Language (VHDL preferred)
  • C/C++
    • understand and utilize "pointer"
  • Computer architecture (CPU, memory, bus, peripheral, and how to control them)
  • Logic circuits (especially sequential circuits, not combinational)
  • Video signal processing (includes knowledge about international standards such as NTSC, VGA, JPEG, MPEG, HDMI, DP ...)
  • Computer networks (TCP/IP protocol stuck, UART, wi-san, so on...)
  • Linux (esp. device tree and its driver coding)

Note that our all documents to hardware design are written in Japanese language (Kanji). It may be expected that understanding them will take a considerable amount of time. Assuming it takes two years to decipher them, research would only begin afterward, so graduating straight from graduate school in two years would be difficult.

If you apply to our Labo, send the followings:

  • academic records in your university
  • achievements (papers etc...)
  • FPGA design demo (record video and upload it to YouTube, and send the link)
    • example (The Snake game by Spartan-3, designed by ZHANG JIACHAO)
